Pre Treatment Considerations 

  • EXISTING COSMETIC TATTOOS: May be considered as correctional work & requires a ‘consultation only’ appointment firstPlease DO NOT book in for the full treatment unless you have had a consultation regarding your existing cosmetic tattoos.

  • ALLERGIES: Such as latex, rubber, medications, or numbing agents, Please advise our staff for further advice.

  • ECZEMA/ DERMATITIS: If you suffer any skin hypersensitivity or dermatitis it is advisable to seek medical advice before having one for our treatments.

  • DIABETES: Due to possible slower healing, please contact our staff for consultation before booking.

  • EYE INFECTIONS/ IRRITATIONS: Treatments must not be conducted where contagious diseases are present or there is evidence of infection (redness, pus, tenderness & swelling). Please call for further advice if you have experienced recent infection or irritation of the eyes.

  • COLD SORES: Treatment should not be conducted when active cold sores are present. The stimulation of cosmetic tattooing & skin needling may increase the risk of future breakouts.

  • PREGNANCY/BREAST FEEDING: We do not tattoo or do some skin treatments during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Please advise our staff for further advice.

  • FACIAL SURGERY/ RADIATION/ CHEMOTHERAPY: To ensure your safety & comfort a Doctors permission must be sought before we can proceed with any cosmetic tattoo or skin treatments. Please call us for more information.

  • CHEMICAL PEELS: It is recommended not to undergo any chemical peels within 2-4 weeks of either side of a cosmetic tattooing treatment.

  • COSMECEUTICAL SKIN CARE: Products containing the following ingredients should be avoided on the area for at least 5 days before treatment & 2 weeks after. As this may accelerate fading of cosmetic tattoos, & may cause some skin irritation post skin treatments: AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxyl Acids: Glycolic, lactic acid), Vitamin C, Benzoyl Peroxide, Vitamin A, & Alcohol greater than 6%.

  • IPL/ LASER: On the area should be avoided a minimum of 4 weeks before treatment & must be completely avoided on any area that contain cosmetic tattoo pigment. Advise your laser/IPL therapist before undergoing treatments.

  • LED (Light Emitting Diode): Assists with healing & may be beneficial before or after a treatment.

  • INJECTABLES: Muscle relaxant injections should not be performed 2 weeks before or after cosmetic tattooing treatment & skin treatments. Lip filler treatments should not be performed 2 months before or after cosmetic tattooing treatment.

  • MEDICATIONS/SUPPLEMENTS: Some medications may cause adverse effects. If you are taking any of the following please consult our staff before booking: Warfarin, Heparin, Aspirin, Opioid medication (Endone), Prednisone, Roaccutane (within 8-12 months), Antibiotics, Fish oil, primrose, krill oil, Ginseng, & Gingko Biloba. A Doctor approval may be required before proceeding.

  • ALCOHOL: Avoid for at least 24hrs before the procedure to avoid excessive bleeding.

  • POOL/SUN EXPOSURE: The following for at least 2 weeks: chlorinated/salt water pools, high UV exposure, sun beds, & Infrared light exposure. Excessive exposure to sun over time will cause fading of the tattoo, wear SPF where possible.

  • EXERCISE/ GYM: The following activities should be avoided for 48 hours after treatment: Cardio workout, excessive sweating, sauna, hot spa, & spray tanning.

  • HAIR REMOVAL PROCEDURES: Unable to provide cosmetic tattooing or skin treatments to areas that have been waxed or shaved within 24 hours.

  • GIVING BLOOD: The Red Cross has suggested that you do not give blood for 6months after any cosmetic tattooing.

  • HEALING TIME: Consider any upcoming social events or workout commitments for the week following your treatment. Expected healing time can range from 3-8days.
